By extracting and sequencing the whole genome, we capture the genetics of the honey bee in addition to its gut microbiome and associated pathogens. This allows us to undertake various different analyses, including:

• Honey bee sub-species – a more detailed analysis than our M/C lineage test, looking at the whole bee genome, including mitochondrial DNA.
• Honey bee health – identifying beneficial microbes and pathogens such as Nosema.
• Relatedness – we can provide analysis of the relatedness of different colonies, and look for signs of inbreeding.
